Local Warming :-(

In the UK local council elections the BNP won seats for 10 councilors, whereas the Green party won but 5.

WTF?  :-(

PS:  Barnsley was one of those places, I heard.

you are mistaking the BNP for the B.I.G. (barnsley independent group)
it is true that the BNP are gaining support at each election, but that is mainly due to them trading on the fears of the (predominantly) working class "sun readers". those without an interest in genuine politics, that see those "not from round here" as the enemy!

"they'll steal yopur jobs, your women and your identity"
"crime will increase"
"your kids wonm't be safe"
"they are all potential suicide bombers"
the kind of thing that strikes fear into those of a lesser inteligence. and as someone who has had BNP litrature put through his door, i can tell you, they are well presented claims, but no-where does it give you a clue of their extreme right wing views and what their REAL intent is. but hey, once they have your vote and are in local council they can begin to eat away at the moral fabric from within.

blimey! where did that come from? i need to lay down now!

Yup, we have neofascists here too, but they're called the NDP here.

Didn't know you had BIG guys in Barnsley; I guess all the girls voted for them ;-)

The BNP will continue to slowly thrive as long as there is a vacuum in British politics.

Over half the voting population are disenfranchised by our arrogant mainstream parties.

If I voted - which I no longer do - I would be severly tempted to vote BNP.

My country comes first but not to the mainstream parties who 'know better' than we do.

"People should not be afraid of their government, government should be afraid of their people"

"A government of the people for the people".

I'm an idealist. I may vote Tory I may vote BNP.

They don't 'steal our jobs' or owt like that. They do change the entire complexion of our country. Personally I don't want it changed and would support it being reversed.

I don't read The Sun.... ;-)
